Keeping the Gate Closed
“Anyone with the mental and verbal ability to challenge autism research is not autistic on a scale that I care to recognise.” (p12 – ouch!)
Wow. This is so dehumanizing. And if you don’t see autistics as human, you probably don’t have a problem with trying to cure them. Which I think then quickly leads you to the path where you can do anything to them, because they have no human rights to violate. And before I’m accused of hyperbole, places like the JRC still exist in America today. Autistic kids are being put in seclusion rooms here in Des Moines as we speak.
