I've been playing No Man's Sky again the last couple of days. An update came out recently, and while everyone is excited about a Mech Exosuit, I'm happy to see how much smoother the game is running compared to the last time I checked in.
NMS is one of my all-time faves. I love being able to peacefully explore a nearly infinite universe. There have been so many times when I've been standing on a planet surface, looking out over a gorgeous vista and been struck by the fact that no one else has ever seen it before.
But while chill space exploration is nice, eventually it feels a little aimless. I've built bases, unlocked almost all the tech, amassed a fortune, completed the quests. Once you get to the end game, there's not much to drive you forward, short of love for the game.
Right now, I'm working on my little fleet of starships. I have three I want to keep, and three I want to scrap. I'm working on upgrading the last of the ships, so that at least is giving me a goal.
I saw a lot of threads this morning where people were talking about their wishlists for the game, and I guess my main wish would be something to grind towards in the end game. But I have no idea what that would look like.
