You have 1 job, Microsoft

I have an Xbox, with Minecraft installed on it. The controller is directly wired to the box. This should be the simplest, easiest way to play Minecraft, right?

Nope. First, Minecraft needs to update. So even though I have the wasteful energy settings that should allow games to update and install in the background, the console has a huge backlog of updates that it’s just sitting on. For some reason. Ok, Minecraft is updated. Those other things can wait.

Finally, Minecraft boots. But the controller doesn’t work properly. What? You can only move the cursor with the left stick, not the cross, but most importantly, it doesn’t recognize the A button, so we’re dead in the water again.

What the heck? Switch to Vampire Survivors, verify that the controller and the buttons work, switch back to Minecraft, nada. Reboot Minecraft. Still wonky.

Restart the whole console. Yay! It works! Finally. Now we can… Unable to load Realms? Jump out, check that the console is online (it is), jump back to see if Minecraft thinks it’s online? Oh, it can see the Marketplace and the servers, but not Realms?

Shut down the console. Reinstall Minecraft on your phone. You had one job, M$.
