We moved today
Pepsi and I. She’s pretty thrown. She was doing ok until the cable guys came by. Hours later, she’s just starting to emerge from where ever she managed to hide in a new, empty apartment.
Our old place was an efficiency; this one’s a two bedroom so the boys can stay here sometimes. After the last place this feels like a house. The boys were so excited to see it that they invited themselves over for an impromptu sleepover.

Which is fine, honestly. I think having them around will help acclimate Peps. I’m bone-tired; I moved everything from the old place in one day. The only hard part was the desk, specifically the top, which is heavy as hell and really awkward to carry. Somehow I really hurt my knee moving it to the van. Anyway, I’m ready for an early bedtime tonight.
But also, this place is for us. I’m going to have partial custody, and they’ll be here a lot. There’s a pool out back that was a clincher for the place, even though I don’t like pools. I like to swim, but pools are loud chaotic overly bright places that leave me overwhelmed.
So it’s nice to have them here. And I don’t mind that they jumped onto their tablets, each in a different room. I’m tired, and we are neurodivergent folk. And this place is for us.
