“It is the same with thinking, which is really silent talking”

One of the ideas I’ve been wrestling with since reading Jaynes has been this idea of other people’s thoughts in our minds. Thinking is silent talking; listening is letting someone else think for a moment. When you’re listening, the same as when you’re reading, someone else’s words are in your head.

This was not why I captured this. I captured this because I wondered what Watts would make of the revelation that not everyone thinks in words.
