Becoming a Master Builder
So today was all about getting the last eleven golden bricks to get to the rank of "Master Builder" in LEGO Worlds. I started at 89, so there were just eleven more to find. It took a little doing, but in the process I uncovered all the biomes available. I think. It actually gave me the trophy, and then I found another biome, so I'm hoping I found them all.
Getting "Master Builder" unlocks the ability to create your own random world. Basically, you can choose the size, and then the different biomes you want to populate it with, and then the game starts spitting out random worlds within those parameters. Kind of cool, but since we've gotten to this point, I'm not sure what's left to do. There are a number of weird little random trophies I could chase, like play the bagpipes for a brown bull, but I've got a long list of games to play, and I think it might be time to move on.
I did not run into the glitch I ran into last night where the world had trouble loading. I don't know if what happened last night was corruption in my save file, or maybe I'd been running the game too long and it ran out of memory, but I ran on a couple of huge worlds this afternoon, and everything was fine.
LEGO Worlds will make for a great stress-free escape sometime down the road, someday when I'm just worn out and and I want to play a game where I can run and explore and not think too much about it. It will be interesting to see if there are any other future DLCs, which would give me a little more to do. As for now, Worlds will go on the shelf until my boys want to play, and then we'll sit on the couch together and shoot a thousand squirrels into the sky.
I just had a little time left this afternoon, so I decided to play a little Destiny 2. I haven't really played since the start of the Dawning, but one thing that Destiny does very well is let you just drop in, run around and shoot stuff, and feel like you accomplished something.
Today was actually the last day of the Dawning. Tomorrow is reset day, so the little progress that I made towards Clan XP and such won't count, but I did get Asher Mir a present. I had to go to Titan and kill fifty enemies. The challenges on Titan were 40 Arcology kills; complete a public event; and kill 75 Fallen. I had that part of Asher's present done actually pretty quickly, though there was a little bit of a learning curve as I tried to remember how to play. It didn't take long, and it was fun to see low-level characters running, players I'm assuming got D2 for Christmas.
